John Owen, a Puritan theologian, once wrote,
"The nature and being of God is the foundation of all true religion and holy religious worship in the world. The purpose for which we were made is to worship him and to give glory unto him."
He also says that the worship of God from man is "indispensably necessary" because of the nature and being of God himself. Basically, all things find their meaning and purpose in the worship of our one, true, and personal God.
and that's what I want with my little blog here.
We, as God’s children, find our meaning and purpose only in relation to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. My photography, ideas and art are presented here to give glory to God. I hope that they will point to truth only to the degree that God - our Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer - is lifted up and honored above and beyond all else. God determines beauty, as well as truth. Without him life is meaningless.
My desire and prayer is that you will see the majesty and honor of God in the world around us; that we would all be drawn to this beauty even as we learn to worship God more and more with all of life.
As the Psalmist says, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing."
Apart from God, even this little blog means nothing. As it relates to God this blog is a celebration of life - because of what God has done in the past and what He promises to do in the future.
"For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen."
Mary Catherine.
